It all started back in Fall of 2007 with a 2.5m glider and a Senior Telemaster. The first attempt was a limited success and we kind of forgot about it after a while. Then last year Marty Zeller built a 1/4 scale Schweizer 1-26. I asked, "Marty, how are you going to launch that thing?". He replied, "You're going to tow me up with a power plane." From then on we read articles, watched instructional videos, and attended events together. Today we actually look like we know what we are doing and are having great fun with scale aerotow. Here's our latest YouTube video. If anyone else is interested in joining in on the aerotow fun, please contact Dave Eltringham or Marty Zeller, or meet us at Sisk one weekend and we'll help you get started with one of the most challenging and fun segments of our hobby.
Eric Stein has drafted a very thoughtful and concise pre-flight checklist. Please review this document and maybe print a copy to use to check your plane before bringing it to the field and when you arrive at the field. It might help save you from some senseless damage.
